We - Hazel, Carmel and Catherine - sat down and asked ourselves: what do we wish we had known on the day we decided to dream, dare, do? What would’ve helped us reached our writing goals quicker? What advice could we have really done with before the good stuff started happening, and what did we learn after our books hit the shelves? With this in mind, we designed an event that we believe will work for writers at all stages of the publication journey. If you don’t know where to start, don’t know what to do now that you’ve reached ‘THE END’, or even if you already have a book deal but don’t know what to do next, we’re here to help.
As busy women, we know how hard it can be to escape to a writing retreat and leave everything else behind. That’s why The Inspiration Project takes place over a weekend - long enough to check in with your writing, but not too long to be away from real life.
Our creative time-out is an opportunity for you to devote 48 hours to your writing and find out everything you need to know to pursue your writing goals - with some positivity, encouragement and a little bit of craic thrown in for good measure!
THE WHEN
Our next creative time-out will take place over the weekend of 25-27 May, 2024. Book your place now for just €449.
THE WHERE
Seafield Hotel and Spa Resort, Ballymoney, Gorey is a 4-star property that offers an oasis of calm and tranquility on the Wexford coast.
Your package includes 2 nights bed and breakfast in a luxury room. All work and no play made Hazel, Carmel and Catherine… so we’ve made sure to schedule some down-time too. Included in your package is a drinks reception and one evening meal, plus full use of Seafield’s award-winning Oceo Spa. Not to mention a full day of our ‘Inspiration Shot’ coaching sessions, one-on-one mentoring and the time and space to write. And we know from personal experience that events like these come with another big benefit that doesn’t appear on the schedule: the renewed motivation and fresh inspiration you’ll take home with you after spending a weekend in the company of other writers who are dreaming big too.
We think Seafield is the perfect spot to dare, dream, do. It’s a relaxing hideaway with stunning, sprawling grounds and a private beach. But, yeah, there’s free wifi too!
Seafield is about 1.5 hours’ drive from Dublin, 3 from Cork and 3 from Galway. It has good transport links, with Gorey train station only 10-15 minutes away by taxi. Parking on site is free. The closest airport is Dublin (DUB). Click here to learn more about this property at the Seafield Hotel & Spa Resort official website.
THE WHAT
We have spent a lot of time thinking about the best use of your time. This weekend will include:
- Inspiration Shots: coaching sessions led by your cheerleaders which will cover everything you need to know from prologues to payments. Topics will include how to write a synopsis, how to get an agent, how to promote your book, how to make a career as an author, self-publishing, and much, much more. Our Inspiration Shots are dynamic 45-minute sessions packed full of useful information, but entirely waffle-free.
- We also want you to get some work done, so we’ve structured the schedule to include blocks of uninterrupted writing time for you to use as you wish. Your luxury room will have a large writing desk, comfy chair and tea/coffee-making facilities, but at Seafield you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to writing spots. That’s if you can ignore the beautiful views out the window, of course!
- There’ll always be questions we haven’t thought of, and we want to make sure you go home with the answers. Every attendee will have the opportunity to book a one-on-one mentoring session with one of our cheerleaders during which they can practice their elevator pitch, get personalised advice or just pick our brains about all things writing.
